Enrolment is for one week of half days. If 2 classes are combined for a full day of instruction, lunch supervision will be provided.

In this unique course, students collaborate to create a story, paint a mural, build puppets and masks, make and record sounds and music, and perform an original play for friends and family on the last day of class!

Curious young minds will explore and experiment with the wacky world of Dada, the Surrealist art of Magritte and Dali, Cubist Collage and much more.

In this week, each child will receive a box of art supplies to create with. Emphasis is on individual creativity.

Draw your cartoons with Jerry and then transform them into sculpture with Janus. A full day of sculpting and cartooning, you can't get a better mix than that!

Have fun learning the basic skills and concepts of cartooning. Content will include drawing animals, expression, actions, and humour. Children are required to bring their own 8 X 10 spiral ringed sketchbook.
CARTOONMANIA II Ages 7+

Another fun filled course for children who just can't get enough cartooning. New lessons and projects have been designed for children who have expressed a special interest in cartooning, and will involve the study of character design for advertising, licensing, a more in depth look at comic strips and computer game creation.
WORLD OF WONDERS AM Ages 10-12

Have fun creating your own miniature 3D world! Using an ordinary cardboard box, students will plan, build and paint a small-scale 'diorama'.
THE ART EXHIBIT PROJECT AGES 8-12

Students work as a team to create their own mixed-media art installation for the Dofasco Gallery's annual Children's Art Exhibit. On Friday, at 3:00 pm, family and friends will be invited to the opening celebration.

Individual skills are sharpened with the introduction of more mature concepts and themes. Each week affords new opportunities both to experiment and to enjoy an in-depth exploration of traditional media with different weekly projects.

You will learn basic skills in film photography, camera handling and darkroom techniques. Take home your own prints. Request the list of required materials well before the course starts.
