Practicing artist and popular art instructor specializing in transparent watercolour. Bonnie is a guest artist and teacher in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Bonnie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.) from York University and has studied under Jack Reid, John Joy, Zalton Szabo and Steven Quiller.
Bonnie has exhibited across Canada and the U.S. Her work is in corporate, private and public collections, including the Royal Bank of Canada, Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and the private collection of Colm Wilkinson of Phantom of the Opera fame.
Bonnie has been recognized with a number of awards since 1997. Highlights include the Award of Distinction (gold, silver and bronze medals), Best Still Life, Best Architectural, Juror’s Choice, Artist’s Choice and Award of Merit, all from the Toronto Watercolor Society. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Canadian Artists and a signature member of the Toronto Watercolour Society.
Bonnie’s watercolours cover a number of subjects, including ordinary ‘slices of life,’ landscapes and architectural detail. High-keyed colour and dramatic light are trademarks of her work. For Bonnie, a successful painting gives the viewer a glimpse into her view of the world.
